Luques Curtis
Luques Curtis (born August 17, 1983 in Hartford , Connecticut ) is an American jazz musician ( double bass , also composition ) of modern jazz .
Live and act
Luques Curtis performed at a young age. He had studied the piano , violin , cello and tumbadoras before taking up the double bass. Before entering high school, he played with Chucho Valdés at a club in Manhattan with a children's bass. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston; During his audition he studied with bassists such as Dave Santoro , Andy Gonzalez , Carlos del Puerto , John Lockwood , Ron Mahdee , Mickey Bass and Volkan Orhan . Since the 2000s he worked a. a. with Gary Burton (who also made his first recordings in 2004 in Berklee) also with Donald Harrison , Ralph Peterson , Christian Scott In the field of jazz he was involved in 64 recording sessions between 2004 and 2018, most recently with Eddie Palmieri ( Mi Luz Mayor ).
