The Drömlingsinformationszentrum Kämkerhorst is an information center and an amusement park in Calvörde in the district of Börde , Saxony-Anhalt , Germany with an area of ​​15,500 m² .

The Drömlingsinformationszentrum is located in the Calvörde residential area Kämkerhorst an der Ohre and is 8.6 kilometers as the crow flies from the center of Calvör. The information center is also located in the southern part of the Drömling Nature Park and the Ohre-Drömling Nature Reserve . The place Mieste is about six kilometers northeast.

History and functions

The information house in the Kämkerhorst was built in 1791 as a trench mastery. The function as a trencher continued into the 1950s. With the political turning point in 1990, the ditch maintenance facility was converted into a nature conservation station and until 1998 housed the administrative headquarters of the Drömling nature park administration.

From 1998 the trench mastery building was redesigned into a Drömling information center. This was followed by development for the large outdoor area, which represents the Drömling and is intended to serve people for local recreation .

The Drömlingsinformationszentrum Kämkerhorst consists of the Drömling information house and the typical Drömling outdoor area.

In 2012 around 10,000 guests were received.

The Drömlingsinformationshaus houses numerous animal specimens such as beavers , otters , cranes , beech marten and curlew . There are also numerous information boards about the Drömling Nature Park and the flora and fauna as well as an exhibition on the Drömling habitats. In April 2011, an accessible beaver castle was built in the information center.
