The catchment area of the Dr. Frank Gymnasium Staßfurt is Staßfurt and its districts as well as the city of Hecklingen . Since the 2016/2017 school year, the catchment area of the former Egeln grammar school ( association community Egelner Mulde , Kroppenstedt , the districts of Schneidlingen , Groß Börnecke and Cochstedt of the city of Hecklingen) has also been part of the Dr. Frank grammar school.

The main building houses grades ten to twelve, building II houses grades five to nine and is the former Goethe School, both schools are in the Staßfurt-Nord district .

history
The grammar school was named after Adolph Frank in 1989 . In the GDR times it was the EOS of Staßfurt. After the reunification of Germany , it was renamed the Dr.-Frank Gymnasium. Later the Goethe elementary school was bought because of the high number of pupils at the grammar school. In 2007 the school was named School Without Racism - School With Courage . As of 2013 the school is a grammar school with block lessons. Since the school year 2014/15, the Egelner Gymnasium has been integrated as an external location.

As a state, general education school, the grammar school is subject to the framework guidelines of the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
School sports teams
The high school has a strong sports system. The pupils in the fifth to tenth grades can join the school sports club of the grammar school; then the mixed sports group of the high school. Today there are school clubs: badminton , soccer , handball and athletics , which takes place as part of the regional sports program “ Youth trains for the Olympics ”. The grammar school is a co-host of the International Federal Youth Games.
Namesake
The namesake, Adolph Frank, was an important chemist who spent a large part of his life in Staßfurt and made various inventions there.
