The Dr. Jürgen and Irmgard Ulderup Foundation is a foundation for the promotion of education and training as well as environmental and landscape protection . After the Volkswagen Foundation, it is the second largest foundation in Lower Saxony .

history

The foundation , based in Diepholz , was founded in 1983 by the entrepreneur Jürgen Ulderup and his wife Irmgard (1922–2011), initially as the Dr. Jürgen Ulderup Foundation and merged with the Irmgard Ulderup Foundation under its current name in February 2009 .

The former Dr. Jürgen Ulderup Foundation was a minority shareholder in the Lemförder Metallwaren AG group of companies and Lemförder Metallwaren J. Ulderup AG & Co. with their domestic and foreign holdings, before these shares were taken over in 2003 by the ZF Friedrichshafen company and in return, the foundation was given a 6.2 percent stake in the larger company based in Friedrichshafen .

Dr. Jürgen Ulderup Prize

Every year in April, the foundation awards the Dr. Jürgen Ulderup Prize, endowed with a total of 35,500 euros .
