The Dragon Moon Publishing is an independent publisher of books for young people fantasy and historical novels. It was founded in 1996 by Astrid Behrendt and is based in Hürth in North Rhine-Westphalia . The publishing house, called Drachennest , is located in Hitdorf , Leverkusen .

The publishing house was founded in 1996 by Astrid Behrendt . The publishing program started with children's books and volumes of poetry and expanded to include travelogues and fantasy, love and historical novels. In 2015, the publisher Julia Adrian was able to win over the publisher with her fantasy trilogy The Thirteenth Fee . a. awarded the LovelyBooks reader award.

The cover designers Alexander Kopainski and Marie Graßhoff significantly shape the appearance of the publisher with their cover designs , whose publishing program has now found its focus in fantasy with all its forms.

The publisher has had several permanent and freelance employees since 2016. The publishing program can be obtained from its own online shop and from regular bookshops.

The publisher mainly publishes fantasy novels, some of which are also available as audio books. The publisher also offers surprise book boxes in different price segments ( Drachenpost) . The publisher is a member of the German Book Trade Association . In 2018, the publisher achieved sales of almost 1 million euros.
