Dragoş Dima (born June 16, 1992 in Ploieşti ) is a Romanian tennis player .
Career
Dima played his first professional tournament in 2009 on the ITF Future Tour , but it was not until 2012 that he showed his first success there and reached a final. He ended the year also for the first time within the top 1000 of the world rankings from. He only succeeded in doing this again in 2014, when he reached two more finals and played his first match on the ATP Challenger Tour thanks to a wildcard in Brașov . After a further increase in 2015, Dima won its first five futures in 2016, making it just under the top 300 in the world for the first time. Another title was added in 2017 and two more in 2018.
In November 2017, the Romanian was appointed to the Davis Cup team for the first time , where he lost in the match against Austria against Gerald Melzer , his record is 2: 1 at the end of 2018. He managed a surprise in September 2018 in his native Sibiu , where he was able to win more than one match in a Challenger for the first time. On the way to the final he defeated three players from the top 200 and finally won in two sets against the Dutchman Jelle Sels in the final . A little later he was 279th at his previous career high in the singles. In doubles he was highest in November 2018 with rank 847.
