nature
The Drawsko is made up of the Drawa (Drage) . It is twelve kilometers long, up to eight kilometers wide and 21 square kilometers in size. It is up to 83 meters deep ( Schaalsee : 71.5 m, Starnberger See : 127.7 m). There are 14 islands in the lake, of which Bielawa (Kalkwerder) covers an area of around 80 hectares. The Drawsko has a total island area of 82 hectares.
The Rinnensee was created by meltwater from a glacier gate during the last ice age. The shores of the lake, which is rich in bays , are also very steep below the shoreline. In a landslide in 1790, a peninsula with a parade ground sank in the lake. From 1854 to 1858 the water level was lowered by 2.5 m.
