Dreaming of You is the last studio album by the American singer Selena . It topped the Billboard 200 in 1995 .
history
After the success of the Spanish-language album Amor Prohibido , the American with Mexican roots planned the breakthrough in the United States with an album sung in English. The English-language songs were composed by, among others, Diane Warren , David Byrne , Keith Thomas and Tom Snow.
In addition to the English titles, the album contains two classic mariachi numbers and the bilingual duet God's Child (Baila Conmigo) with David Byrne. The song was used by Michael Kamen for the film Don Juan DeMarco , in which Quintanilla-Perez had a supporting role. The rest of the album consists of remixed versions of Selena's Latin American pop songs. The singer was shot dead in March 1995 during production after an argument.
