The Dreieckhorn ( 3811 m above sea level ) is a summit in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland . The Dreieckhorn is about 2.5 kilometers northeast of the Aletschhorn and about the same distance southwest of Konkordiaplatz .
The Aletschjoch ( 3623 m ) separates the Dreieckhorn from the northeast ridge of the Aletschhorn. In addition to the west ridge that leads to this yoke, the Dreieckhorn sends two other ridges , one to the northeast towards Konkordiaplatz and one to the southeast to the Kleiner Dreieckhorn ( 3639 m ).
The Dreieckhorn is usually climbed together with the Aletschhorn. The starting or end point of the tour is usually the Mittelaletschbiwak ( 3,102 m ), which is just under two kilometers south of the Dreieckhorn.
On 13 December 2001 the Virgin, together with adjacent areas south of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn in the list as a UNESCO - World Heritage added.
