Friedrich Landmann (born January 12, 1864 in Rheydt ; † February 15, 1931 in Eden near Oranienburg ) was a German doctor and life reformer.

Life

After finishing school in 1883, Landmann worked as Gutseleve in Pomerania. From 1885 to 1890 he studied medicine in Berlin and Greifswald. In 1890 he received his doctorate in Greifswald Dr. med. The difficult economic circumstances for a young doctor without a patient base forced him to move frequently. Between 1891 and 1904 Landmann tried in vain to settle down in Rheydt, Barmen, Boppard, Elberfeld, Ilsenburg, Haubinda, Eisenach, Lengenfeld unterm Stein and Wandlitz. Finally, he shifted his attention to the further development of the non-profit fruit-growing settlement Eden near Oranienburg, where he, like Paul Schirrmeister, was one of the leading board members. There he devoted himself to plant breeding and contributed to the development of vegetable margarine .

His most important successes stem from his hiking days. In 1894, Landmann was a guest of the constituent assembly of the Central Association of Local Health Insurance Funds . During his stay in Elberfeld, he was head of the medical affairs office of the local health insurance companies. His efforts to improve the economic position of doctors led to the first big doctors' strike in Germany. In the subsequent gradual organization of the medical profession in the Hartmannbund , he exerted some influence up to his work as a life reformer.

Friedrich Landmann was born in 1893 with Mathilde. Körner (1870–1915) married.
