Trinity Church (Augsburg)
The Dreifaltigkeitskirche is a Protestant church in Göggingen , a district in southern Augsburg .
history
With the help of donations, the "Protestant Church Building Association Göggingen" had a new building built from 1911 on the Klausenberg site, in the immediate vicinity of the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Georg and Michael . The design came from the Munich architect Ulrich Lang . Twelve years later, Göggingen became an independent parish . In the period that followed, the first appointed pastor, Wilhelm Bogner, took up his post and the rectory was built as an extension. It was not until the mid-1960s that the previously unnamed church was given its current name, Dreifaltigkeitskirche . After Göggingen was temporarily elevated to town status by the market community in 1969 , it was transferred to Augsburg as a district as part of the local government reform in 1972. The area of the Dreifaltigkeitsgemeinde today includes the districts of Göggingen, Inningen , Leitershofen and Bergheim .
The church and the associated gatehouse , which was built at the same time, are under monument protection .
