The Evangelical-Lutheran Trinity Church is located in Neuhaus-Schierschnitz in the Sonneberg district ( Thuringia ). The listed hall church stands on the southern slope of the castle hill, which defines the townscape.

The Church of the Holy Trinity was consecrated on the 1st of Advent 1593. The representative Protestant castle church was a foundation by Hans Friedrich Gottsmann , the lord of the castle and office of Neuhaus and his wife Magdalena, and was built as a burial place for the family. After the Schierschnitzer parish church was destroyed in 1635, the Dreifaltigkeitskirche became a parish church . In the 17th century, renovations were carried out, including the installation of a new gallery . In 1905, the Saalfeld regional building councilor Karl Rommel had the choir area separated from the nave by a raised floor and the organ moved from the choir to the western gallery. In 1932 the interior was renovated and in 1964 the interior was redesigned.

The 16 meter long and 12 meter wide nave of the hall church has a gable roof and a flat ceiling with beveled edges as well as a two-storey gallery on three sides. It is separated from the polygonal choir by a round triumphal arch . The choir is spanned by a six-part ribbed vault. The masonry of the church tower is structured by horizontal cornices . The top is a tail roof and a lantern with a pointed helmet. The sacristy stands on the southern side in a circular extension, which is presumably the remains of a tower of the Burgbergring. A circular extension on the northern side opens up the manorial box.

In the chancel there is a colored baptismal font, bronze grave plates of the donor couple and an alabaster epitaph with a donor relief . On the southern triumphal arch pillar is the pulpit from the 17th century, which is made of sandstone and shows colored relief depictions of the four evangelists. A figure of Moses with the tablets of the Law, a work from the 18th century, is made of alabaster on the northern triumphal arch pillar.

The organ is a work by the organ builder Wilhelm Sauer from 1903. The instrument has a total of 13 registers on two manuals and a pedal .
