The Trinity Church in Stetten

The Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Church is the village church of Stetten, a district of Sondheim vor der Rhön in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Sondheim vor der Rhön and is registered under the number D-6-73-167-14 in the Bavarian list of monuments. Stetten is part of the parish of Sondheim in front of the Rhön-Stetten- Fladungen in the dean's office in Bad Neustadt an der Saale .

history

The church tower was built in the 15th century. The nave was built between 1650 and 1652.

description

The church tower stands as a choir tower in the east. He has a pointed helmet and small ogival sound windows . The nave with a gable roof has almost no windows on the north and south sides. On the south side there are two large windows, a roofed portal with a triangular gable field and the Saxon coat of arms and two small windows one above the other. The windows of the nave and the choir are predominantly ogive with tracery .

Furnishing

The pulpit and baptismal font are from the construction period. The two-storey gallery in the nave occupies the western and northern walls. The organ gallery is built into the choir room. Below it is the manorial box . The church has an oil painting of the Saxon Duke Wilhelm IV from 1662.

Peal

The church has four bells that sound in the Parsifal motif. A special feature is the suspension of the smallest bell in a separate bell cage across the direction of swing of the three larger bells.
