The Dresden Secession 1925/26 was formed in 1925 as a loose group from the former members of the Dresden Secession Group in 1919 in order to take part in the "Dresden Art Exhibition 1925".

In 1925, Will Grohmann sent an invitation to the former members of the Dresden Secession Group to take part in the "Art Exhibition Dresden 1925". Otto Dix declined the invitation, but referred to works by him in the Dresden family property and named the lawyer and art collector Fritz Glaser as the contact person . In 1925 Otto Dix painted the “Lawyer Family Dr. Fritz Glaser ”.

Will Grohmann was very open to modern art and had supported the Dresden Secession Group in 1919 in terms of art criticism and organization. The Dresden Secession 1925/26 formed as a loose group and dissolved again in November 1926 due to personal differences.

The "Art Exhibition Dresden 1925" organized by the Dresden Art Cooperative consisted of one department each from the Dresden Art Cooperative (painting, sculpture and architecture), the Dresden Secession 1925/26 and the New Group 1925 .
