Prayssac ( Occitan : Praissac ) is a southern French municipality with 2,397 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Cahors and the canton of Puy-l'Évêque . The inhabitants are called Prayssacois .
geography
Prayssac is located on the north bank of the Lot River in the old cultural landscape of the Quercy . Prayssac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pomarède in the north, Les Junies in the northeast, Castelfranc in the east, Anglars-Juillac in the southeast, Bélaye in the south, Lagardelle in the southwest and Pescadoires and Puy-l'Évêque in the west.
