history
In the Middle Ages , the manorial power lay with the Bishop of Cahors , who passed it on to the Beraldi family. Jurisdiction was shared between the bishop and the descendants of Bernaud de Béraldi in 1286. At the beginning of the 14th century, Bishop Raymond Pauchel gave up all jurisdiction. In 1328 Delphine de Béraldi married Raymond Bernard de Durfort and founded the Durfort-Boissières family, which kept the manor of Boissières until the French Revolution . In 1336 , Raymond Bernard de Boissières paid homage to the bishop for Boissières and Calamane. In 1504 Antoine de Durfort was the landlord of Boissières including the jurisdiction.
Since the 17th century and especially in the 19th to the middle of the 20th century, numerous brick and pottery shops were operated in Boissières. These were based on the clay and kaolin found in the ground .
On June 28, 1944, a detachment of German soldiers entered Gourdon and took 23 hostages with them. Two days later, almost all of the prisoners in Boissières were shot on the bridge to Nuzéjouls. A hostage escaped.
Population development
After records began, the population rose to a peak of around 785 by the end of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to 200 inhabitants with brief recovery phases up to the 1960s, before a growth phase set in that is still today persists.

Attractions
Parish Church of Saint-Grégoire
The first building could have been built before the Hundred Years War . The remains of the original building can be found on part of the north wall, which shows a masonry made of ashlar inside . In the 15th century, the north side chapel was added, which was believed to be the seat of the Notre-Dame chaplain , founded by Bernard de Durfort. Extensive work was carried out in the 19th century. The present church has three naves and the plan of a Latin cross . The keystone of the apse bears an inscription with the name Frézal, who was pastor in 1865. The stained glass windows were made by Louis-Victor Gesta from Toulouse in 1878. The stained glass window in the longitudinal axis bears the coat of arms of Bishop Grimardias (1866-1896), like one of the fighters in the north aisle. The northern side chapel has an entrance with an eyelash and pennies .
Castle ruins
In the library building, a square keep has been partially preserved, originally dating from the 12th or 13th century. The foundations of a second round tower from the 15th century can still be seen today. A large part of the castle was probably destroyed during the French Revolution.
