Until the middle of the 19th century, the place had well over 600 inhabitants. As a result of the phylloxera crisis in viticulture and the mechanization of agriculture , the number of inhabitants has steadily declined since the second half of the 19th century to the low of the 1960s.

For centuries, agriculture in the Haut-Quercy was primarily self-sufficient , including viticulture until the 19th century, which was successfully revived in the area around Cahors after the phylloxera crisis . Today - in addition to viticulture and cattle and poultry breeding - tourism in the form of renting holiday apartments ( gîtes ) plays a major role in the economic life of the municipality.

Attractions
- The parish church, mainly made of quarry stone, is a single-nave building from the 12th and 13th centuries, which was, however, thoroughly revised in the 15th and 16th centuries, so that only a few Romanesque components remain. The multi-storey, albeit unadorned, structure of the crossing tower , which is built entirely from precisely hewn stones, is striking . The church has - a rarity in the south of France - a portico sunk slightly into the ground on the south side, behind which there is a Romanesque portal with a decorative Renaissance surround that was moved here around 1500 . The nave of the church is spanned by a simple wooden ceiling and houses remarkable furnishings (baptismal font, pulpit, paintings, etc.); two side chapels north and south of the crossing and the apse are ribbed . The church building was classified as a monument historique in 1979 .
- The multi-towered Château Lagrézette dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. Century and saw a multitude of owners throughout its history, some of whom went about their business in nearby Cahors. The building with its half-timbered pigeon house ( pigeonnier ) standing on six stone pillars stands in the midst of vineyards and today serves as a representative winery. The building complex, largely preserved in its original state, was recognized as a Monument historique in 1982 .
