Espère ( Occitan espera ) is a French commune in the department of Lot in the region Occitania . The municipality with 1,044 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) belongs to the arrondissement of Cahors and the canton of Causse et Bouriane (until 2015: canton of Cahors-Nord-Ouest ).
geography
Espère is located about seven kilometers northwest of Cahors on the southwestern edge of the Massif Central . Espère is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nuzéjouls in the north, Calamane in the east and northeast, Mercuès in the south and southeast, Caillac in the south and southwest and Crayssac in the west.
