Parish Church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption in Carnac

In 1135 the parish of Carnac belonged to the cathedral chapter of Cahors before it was donated by Bishop Gérard to the Commandery of the Templars in Lacapelle-Livron and then to the Hospitallers .

The church has at least five construction projects, including three main construction phases. The first includes the apse and most of the walls of the nave and the south side chapel , which can be dated to the 13th century. The flamboyant- style windows and the ribbed vaults were created during work after the Hundred Years War at the end of the 15th or the beginning of the 16th century. At the same time the upper storey was added to serve as a refuge. Access was via a spiral staircase. The vault of the western yoke of the nave was built or restored in 1637 together with the repair work that also brought about the new western entrance portal and the renovation of the church furnishings .

The Romanesque apse consists of a semicircular end and a straight yoke that supports the bell tower . It is built from small cut stones . The cornice is supported by consoles that are unadorned with the exception of a fantasy animal. For the rest of the building, it is the stone that identifies the parts that were made before the 15th century. The only original window is covered with an arched monolith . The large tracery windows are more recent. The upper storey and the stair tower on the northwest side are built as rubble stones. The entrance portal is framed with Doric pilasters and a triangular gable . Its door leaves date from the 17th century. The choir is equipped with a boiler vault and a barrel vault behind the slightly pointed arch triumphal arch . The arches at the entrances of the side chapels and the ribbed vault with Liernen and Tierceron ribs show double rods , which is characteristic of the period to the 1500th On the western yoke, a simple painting simulates the ribs of the vault, either because it was not finished or because it was redesigned. The keystone of the north side chapel shows the Maltese cross . The coat of arms on the keystone of the southern side chapel cannot be determined.

A large number of items of furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries are inscribed as a monument historique of movable goods.

Parish church of Saint-Simon and Saint-Jude in Rouffiac

There is no mention of the parish of 1316. Based on its architectural features, the construction of the church can be dated to the 13th century or the early 14th century. A long building has been built on the church, which contains extensive remains from the 13th or 14th century. The church consists of a single nave, a semicircular apse and a southern side chapel. All parts of the building are made of ashlar. The west facade ends in a high gable and contains the ogival entrance portal.

Altar Les Rogations

It is located outside the center of the parish on Route départementale 95. It is a small stone altar with a cross in a stone slab set into a wall. Two wall projections support an arch that protects the altar. The roof, which is covered with hollow tiles, is applied directly to the masonry. The medieval monument has been inscribed as Monument historique since December 10, 1925 .
