Drahitschyn ( Belarusian Драгічын , Russian Дрогичин / Drogitschin , Polish Drohiczyn ) is a Belarusian city in the southwest of the country with 14,744 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2009) in the Breszkaja Woblasz and the center of Drahitschyn district .

history

Mentioned for the first time in 1452 as the village Dovetschjorowitschi , the place has been called Drahitschyn since 1655. Since 1954 Drahitschyn was administratively assigned to Breszkaja Woblasz.

Description: In blue, a silver taut bow aimed at the head of the shield with an arrow of the same color above which two silver acorns float to either side and two silver doves sit close together, the one closer to the viewer is facing away, but their heads are turned.
