Drosera derbyensis is a carnivorous plant from the genus sundew ( Drosera ) in the family of sundew plants (Droseraceae). Their occurrence is limited to the Australian state of Western Australia .

description

In Drosera Derbyensis is a perennial herbaceous plant , forms the individual down-rosettes. The leaves are upright to semi-upright, the petioles are narrow, inverted-lanceolate, 35 to 45 millimeters long, at the base 0.8 to 1 millimeter, later 1.3 to 1.7 millimeters wide, tapering to 0 at the base of the blade .5 to 0.7. They are densely woolly covered with white hair on the top and bottom. The circular leaf blades are 2 to 3 millimeters long and just as wide, on the upper side with small sessile glands, on the edge with muzzle tentacles and on the underside with woolly white hairs.

Flowering time is from March to June. The one to four inflorescence axes are 25 to 35 centimeters long and carry 30 to 50 flowers in a cluster , the flower stalks are 1.5 to 3 millimeters long. The sepals are inverted egg-shaped and slightly notched at the tip, white woolly hairs, 1.7 to 2 millimeters long and 1 to 1.2 millimeters wide. The petals are white, elongated-round and around 4 millimeters long and around 2 millimeters wide.

The stamens are around 1.5 millimeters long. The ovary is inversely egg-shaped and about 1 millimeter long. The three styluses , including the scars, are around 1 millimeter long.

distribution

Drosera derbyensis is native to Western Australia , where it grows in the Kimberley region on white sand that has collected in the depressions and niches of outcrops . In this area it is considered common and not threatened.

Systematics

The species was first described in 1996 by Allen Lowrie , it belongs to the so-called "Petiolaris complex", which forms the Lasiocephala section of the genus. The closest related species is Drosera lanata .
