Dulkadir
The Dulkadir or Zulkadir ( Turkish Dulkadiroğulları ) were an important Beylik in Anatolia from 1337 to 1522 and belonged to the Oghuz tribe Bayat . Their capital was Elbistan .
They immigrated to Anatolia under Hasan Dulkadir Bey and came under the influence of the Mamluks . Zeyneddin Ahmet Karaca Bey took part in the Mamluk campaigns against Lesser Armenia . The Dulkadir occupied the pastures between Maraş and Elbistan. From there they extended their rule further.
The Dulkadir people mainly consisted of the Oghusian tribes Bayat, Afshar and Begdili . It is uncertain which of this group the rulers of the Dulkadir belonged to. The Beylik was founded in the Maraş and Elbistan region and spread to Kırşehir and Mosul . They ruled over Maraş, Kayseri , Elazığ , Antep , Malatya and Adıyaman . The Dulkadir were related to the Ottomans and related by marriage. Later they got into the conflict between the Ottomans and the Mamluks of Egypt . With the conquest of Egypt by the Ottoman Sultan Selim I , the Dulkadir became part of the Ottoman Empire in 1522.
