Druval "Duvie" Westcott (born October 30, 1977 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Hamburg Freezers in the German Ice Hockey League until March 2015 .
Career
Duvie Westcott began his career as a hockey player with the Omaha Lancers, for which he was active in the 1997/98 season in the United States Hockey League . During the season he moved to the team at the University of Alaska Anchorage . After a year off ice hockey, he joined the St. Cloud State University team from 1999 to 2001 . On May 10, 2001, the defender received a free agent contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets , for which he played in the National Hockey League for the next seven years . At the same time, he played over 100 games for the Blue Jackets farm team , Syracuse Crunch from the American Hockey League . Westcott bridged the lockout during the 2004/05 NHL season at JYP Jyväskylä in the Finnish SM-liiga .
For the 2008/09 season Westcott signed with Dinamo Riga from the newly formed Continental Hockey League . For the Latvians he then scored two goals in 53 games and provided 17 templates. He then moved to their league rivals HK Dinamo Minsk , before he was on the ice for ZSC Lions in the National League A the following season . In July 2011, his contract was dissolved and Westcott moved within the Swiss league to the Kloten Flyers , for which came up in the 2011/12 season. In the summer of 2012, the right-shooter moved to the Hamburg Freezers and played there in the German Ice Hockey League for the following three seasons . Following the 2014/15 season , his contract with Hamburg was not extended.
