The Dux type R 17/60 hp passenger car was brought onto the market in 1923 by the Leipzig car manufacturer Dux to complement the four-cylinder type S model .

It had a 6-cylinder SV in-line engine with a displacement of 4.4 liters, which made 60 hp at 1800 rpm and transmitted its power to the rear wheels via a single-disk dry clutch and 4-speed gearbox with a shift lever on the right inside. The valves were positioned at an angle to allow a better gas exchange . There were two mechanical foot brakes: One acted on the cardan shaft, the other (with a second pedal!) Acted on all four wheels. The vehicle was available as a four-seat touring car or four-door sedan.

In contrast to the type S , the almost equally large type R was much more modern. But since its price was very high at 22,000 RM , it did not sell better than its sister model.

In 1927 production was stopped when it was taken over by the Presto works .
