Dwarkanath Shantaram Kotnis ( Marathi : द्वारकानाथ शांताराम कोटणीस , Dvārkānāth Śāṁtārām Koṭṇīs ; Chinese name: Kē Dìhuá柯棣华; * October 10, 1910 in Solapur , Maharashtra ; † December 9, 1942 in China) was an Indian doctor who, in September 1938, with a Medical team went to China to provide medical assistance in resisting Japanese invasion in the Second Sino-Japanese War . He died in China in status epilepticus and is revered today as an example of Sino-Indian friendship. He is in a heroes cemetery in Hebei Province next to Dr. Norman Bethune and the American nurse Jean Ewen are buried. Another statue is in Shijiazhuang across from the Norman Bethune International Peace Hospital.

In 1946 an Indian film was made about Kotnis ( Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani , director and leading role: V. Shantaram ) and in 1982 a Chinese film ( Kē Dìhuá dàifu《柯棣华 大夫》, "Dr. Kotnis").

Dwarkanath Kotnis (Ke Dihua mu) tomb in the Xinhua District of Shijiazhuang , Hebei Province has been on the Hebei Province Monuments List since 1982 .
