Stephan Körner , also in the spelling Stefan Körner (born February 11, 1964 in Saarbrücken ) is a German judge . He is a judge at the administrative court of Saarland , currently active at the social court in Saarbrücken and deputy judge at the constitutional court of the Saarland . Politically, he is involved as a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in the regional assembly (formerly Stadtverbandstag) Saarbrücken .

Private life, education and work

Körner was born into a working class family. After school and a. At the Otto Hahn Gymnasium (Saarbrücken) and community service, he began studying law in 1986 at the University of Saarland and the University of Cologne . In 1990 he passed the first state examination in law and then worked as part of his legal clerkship in the Saarland office and the German embassy in Brussels. Following the 2nd state examination in 1993, he decided to become a judge at the Karlsruhe Administrative Court . In 1995 he moved to the Saarland Administrative Court, where he was appointed judge at the Administrative Court in 1997. Since April 2009 he has been a judge at the Saarbrücken Social Court. Since 2008 he has been deputy judge at the Constitutional Court of the Saarland . Körner is married.

Political career

Körner joined the Alliance 90 / Greens in 1981 and belongs to the realo wing of the party. In 1989 he joined the Saarbrücken City Association for the first time as a list replacement for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. After many years of involvement in the Saarbrücken-Halberg local association, he was elected chairman in 1999. In 2001 he was a city councilor in the first black-green coalition in a state capital. In the local elections in 2004 he was elected to the Saarbrücken City Association (regional assembly since 2008), where he is the parliamentary group chairman for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. In 2009 he stood as the top candidate of Bündnis90 / Die Grünen for the election of the regional assembly and was a direct candidate for the office of regional association director . On September 10, 2009, at the start of the Saarland Jamaica coalition under the CDU Prime Minister Peter Müller, Körner was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture. With the dissolution of this coalition by the CDU Prime Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer on January 6, 2012, his term of office in the government ended. After his time as State Secretary, Körner returned to the Saarland jurisdiction, was first appointed as a judge at the social court, then again at the administrative court.
