Dayo Olatunji (* 4. March 1992 ), better known as Dyo (formerly Ms D ), is a British R & B - singer from London .

biography

Dayo Olatunji comes from a Nigerian family. Her mother was born in the UK and her father is from Lagos , Nigeria. She started singing when she was about four years old, and from the age of about 10 she took part in talent shows and competitions.

In 2009 Ms D sang as background accompaniment on the single Oopsy Daisy by the rapper Chipmunk . The single rose to the top of the UK singles chart on October 11, 2009 .

Ms D was best known as the duet partner of the rapper Wiley on his album The Ascent , on which she sang in three pieces. The song Heatwave entered the UK charts in 2012 and was a number one hit from August 5th to 18th . Wiley was also supported by Ms D for the singles Can You Hear Me (Ayayaya) (together with Skepta and Jme ) and Reload (with Chipmunk).

In 2012 she also sang in a duet with Charlie Brown on the single Dependency . She also worked with Iggy Azalea , for whose song Bounce she wrote the hook , as well as Conor Maynard and Rita Ora . In 2014 Ms D released her own EP called Resonance on the Killing Moon Records label.
