Eğerci is a city with its own administration and belongs to the district of Devrek in the Turkish province of Zonguldak .
Eğerci was granted city status in 1986 and has 2,019 inhabitants (65% male and 35% female, as of 2008). In the center are the three districts Merkez Mahallesi , Eski Eğerci Mahallesi and Karşıyaka. There are four housing developments in the Karşıyaka district: Çıvaklar, Dereköy, Çömezler and Boduroğlu. 19 surrounding villages are also connected to the city administration. The county town of Devrek is 28 km away.
Eğerci has been under surveillance by the gendarmerie all day since November 27, 2005 using a video camera .
economy
The locally based company Emiroğlu Tekstil is the city's largest employer with around 180 employees.
tourism
Wild boar can be hunted in the Devrek National Park. Fishing in the streams is also possible.
There are various annual festivals on the plateaus, which are celebrated in the last week of June:
- Gölcük, 1400 m, from Eğerci center: 14 km (only 5 km asphalt)
- Orta yayla, 1480 m, from Eğerci center: 16 km (only 5 km asphalt)
- Kızılcaören, 1420 m, from Eğerci center 18 km.
- Kızkulak, 1650 m, Eğerci center 19 km (3 km on foot)
