The Esporte Clube Iranduba da Amazônia is a Brazilian sports club from Iranduba in the state of Amazonas . His main branch is soccer .

history

The men's soccer team of the “ Hulk from the Amazon ” became second division champions of the Amazon in the year it was founded and was able to play in the first national league. After the 2015 season, the team was disbanded for cost reasons. In late 2018, Iranduba returned to men's football with a new team and started in the second Amazon division.

Since then, the association has been pursuing the establishment of its women's soccer team among the top teams at national level through targeted funding. This commitment was promoted by filling the technical management with former functionaries of AE Kindermann , which is experienced in promoting women's sport and who had ceased playing in late 2015. At the state level, the women's team has immediately taken over the dominance and won all subsequent state championships. The team has also participated in all national championships since 2013 and is currently playing first class, as the only Amazon team in football at all. This gives the team an above-average crowd of spectators in Brazilian women's football, so that particularly top games have to be moved to the Arena da Amazônia in neighboring Manaus . The championship game against SC Corinthians on March 23, 2016 (2-2) was the first women's soccer game ever to be played at this venue. Nathane Cadorini Fabem (Iranduba) was the first woman to score here .

On November 11, 2017, thanks to the away goal rule, Iranduba prevailed after a 3: 3 (2: 2, 1: 1) in the finals against Esportiva 3B and secured the seventh national title in a row. On November 18, 2018, Iranduba played their first international encounter in the Arena da Amazônia in the opening game for the Copa Libertadores Femenina 2018 , which the club won 2-1 against Flor de Patria FC from Venezuela . The loaned Andressa Cavalari Machry marked the first international goal . Reinforced by Raquel Fernandes and Camila Martins Pereira on loan, the team finished the tournament in third place after a penalty win over the Chilean representative CSD Colo-Colo . During the 2019 season, the Iranduba squad had to cope with a major bloodletting, as the club had to move several regular employees to financially stronger clubs due to the lack of a financially strong sponsor, whereby it lost connection to the top of the Brazilian league and only narrowly escaped relegation to the second division . In the Amazon, Iranduba's hegemony ended on November 30, 2019 at the Estádio Ismael Benigno in Manaus after a 3-1 defeat in the championship final against Esportiva 3B .

Futsal

The futsal team from Iranduba won the national championship in 2016 and reached the final of the first ever Brazilian Women's Futsal Cup in 2017 , where it was defeated by the Leoas da Serra from Santa Catarina .
