The EHC Burgdorf is a Swiss ice hockey club from Burgdorf BE in the canton of Bern , which currently participates in the first division , the third highest league level in Switzerland.

history

The EHC Burgdorf was founded in 1959. In the 1965/66 season, promotion to the first division was realized, in which the club has played continuously since then. In 1975 the promotion games to National League B were achieved, but the promotion to the second highest league was subsequently missed. In the 2012/13 season the final game of the Swiss amateur championship was reached, which was lost 3: 4 after extra time against HC Düdingen Bulls .

The EHC Burgdorf gained notoriety in the region for its good youth work, as it produced some later NLA top players. For example, the two Berger brothers Alain and Pascal , Mario Rottaris and Marc Reichert should be mentioned.
