EULeaks
The Internet portal EU-Leaks is intended to enable whistleblowers to securely publish documents on the subjects of the European Parliament and other EU institutions. The twelve members of the Green Group in the European Parliament who are involved in the portal intend to divide the work of viewing the incoming documents thematically among themselves. The initiators plan to keep control of the platform within the Green Group in order to be able to ensure that the information is used in accordance with the objectives of the European Union. At the same time, the information should be passed on to journalists unfiltered.
Intention of the initiators
According to their own statements, the initiators hope to receive the information they need for their work through the platform. It should be possible to collect such information in a targeted manner that affects EU institutions. The information providers should be offered a secure channel. The idea for the project came about against the background of the Luxembourg Leaks and Dieselgate documents, which were only accessible to members of the European Parliament with great difficulty. The initiators are convinced that information from whistleblowers serves the public interest.
technology
The platform is configured in such a way that it only allows documents to be uploaded in conjunction with the Tor browser . The information providers can store information on the platform without it being possible to draw any conclusions about the sender.
