Eagle Point is a hamlet in East Gippsland Shire , in the Australian state of Victoria .

The population is 843 (as of 2016), the average age 56 years which is 18 years above the average age in Australia. 79.1% of the residents of Eagle Point were born in Australia, 3.7% are from England , 2.1% from Germany and 1.8% from New Zealand . 91.6% of the population speak English as their main language, followed by Italian with a share of 1.1% and German with 0.6%.

In Eagle Point, there is the primary school Eagle Point Primary School , consisting of two buildings which was refurbished in of 2010.

Economically dominant and primarily the only economic branch is tourism with the neighboring national parks The Lakes National Park and the Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park. There are two RV sites in Eagle Point , Eagle Point Caravan Park and Lake King Caravan Park . Through the area of the river flows Weiler Mitchell River which the lake Lake King , a lake, from the group of Gippsland Lakes fed. The Lake King is often due to a toxic algal bloom provided with a ban on swimming.
