Eaglesfield is a street village in the Scottish council area Dumfries and Galloway or the traditional county of Dumfriesshire . It is located about eight kilometers northeast of Annan and eleven kilometers southeast of Lockerbie near the right bank of Kirtle Water . The surrounding towns include Kirtlebridge and Ecclefechan . As part of the 2011 census survey, Eaglesfield had 691 residents.
Northeast of Eagle Field was in 1734 William Maxwell, 2nd Baronet the mansion Springkell House built.

Eaglesfield runs along the B722 coming from Annan. The A74 (M) ( Glasgow - Gretna Green ) passes directly south and connects Eaglesfield to the trunk road network. With the opening of Kirtlebridge station in October 1869, a station was created nearby along the main line of the Caledonian Railway . While the line continues to operate, the station was closed in the spring of 1955.
