Earl of Leitrim
Earl of Leitrim was a British hereditary title in the Peerage of Ireland .
The Earls' family seat was Lough Rynn Castle near Mohill in County Leitrim in Ireland .
Award and subordinate titles
The title was created on October 6, 1795 for Robert Clements, 1st Viscount Leitrim . This was, also in the Peerage of Ireland, already on October 11, 1783 to Baron Leitrim , of Manor Hamilton in the County of Leitrim, and on December 20, 1793 to Viscount Leitrim .
His son, the 2nd Earl, was also raised to Baron Clements , of Kilmacrenan in the County of Donegal , on June 20, 1831 in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
All four titles finally expired on June 9, 1952, when his great-grandson, the 5th Earl, died childless.
