Eberhard Alff

Eberhard Alff (born February 1, 1938 in Fürstenreich ) is a former German SED politician . From 1965 to 1971 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Alff, son of a worker, attended elementary and high school. In 1952 he became a member of the Free German Youth (FDJ), in 1955 of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) and in 1959 of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). From 1955 to 1956 he graduated from the workers and farmers faculty of the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg and obtained his Abitur. He then studied from 1956 to 1961 at the Moscow Oil Institute with a degree in deep drilling technology.

From 1962 to 1964 he worked as a drill master and head of the drilling technology department at VEB Erdöl-Erdgaserkundung Gotha . From 1964 he was head of the drilling technology department at VVB Erdöl-Erdgas Gommern . From 1962 to 1964 he was a member of the SED district leadership in Erfurt and from 1965 was the political representative of the working class combat groups .

In October 1963, as a candidate for the SED in constituency 37 of the Erfurt district, he was elected as the successor candidate of the People's Chamber. As the successor to the late Otto Grotewohl , he was confirmed as a member of the People's Chamber on January 13, 1965 at the 10th Volkskammer conference. In July 1967 he was re-elected to the People's Chamber, this time in electoral district 21 in the Magdeburg district . From 1967 to 1971 he was a member of the youth committee.
