Eberhard Helmrich
Eberhard Helmrich (born August 24, 1899 in Hamburg ; † 1969 ) was a German resistance fighter against National Socialism .
As a Wehrmacht officer in occupied Galicia , he supplied a. a. Jewish hospital patients with food and, together with his wife Donata Helmrich, saved the lives of numerous persecuted Jews.
He was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit and as Righteous Among the Nations .
His daughter is the politician Cornelia Schmalz-Jacobsen .
