Eberhard Ruschenbusch

Eberhard Ruschenbusch (born August 6, 1924 in Utgast ; † January 21, 2007 in Dieburg ) was a German ancient historian .

Eberhard Ruschenbusch submitted his dissertation Solonos nomoi in 1967 . The fragments of the Solonic law at the University of Hamburg . In 1972 he became professor of ancient history at the University of Frankfurt am Main , where he taught until his retirement (1992). Ruschenbusch, who often took controversial positions, gained a great reputation as an expert on ancient Greek law. His hypothesis, put forward in 1978, that the stasis that plagued many Greek poles was triggered exclusively by foreign policy factors was also influential .
