Eberhard von Hodenberg

Eberhard Freiherr von Hodenberg (born April 17, 1955 in Bochum ) is a German medic .

Life

Eberhard Freiherr von Hodenberg attended the Graf-Engelbert-Gymnasium Bochum and the Catlin-Gabel-School in Portland , Oregon , and passed his Abitur in 1973 in Bochum. From 1975 he studied medicine at the University of Nantes , from 1976 to 1979 at the University of Erlangen and from 1979 to 1982 at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1982 he passed the medical state examination in Heidelberg and received his license to practice medicine . In the same year he was honored with a thesis on human quantify apolipoproteins, studies on the genesis of hyperlipoproteinemia type I with the distinction magna cum laude doctorate .

He then worked under Daniel Steinberg at the La Jolla Division of Metabolism and Endocrinology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) until 1984 with a grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG) . From 1984 to 1986 he was a research assistant at Department I of the Medical University Clinic in Heidelberg under Gotthard Schettler , then at Department III under Wolfgang Kübler . Here he completed his specialist training in internal medicine in 1991 and was appointed senior physician in 1992. In the same year he completed his habilitation with a thesis on the topic of studies on the lipid metabolism of macrophages: foam cell formation in the arterial wall and lipid mobilization from macrophages . In 1994 he received the sub-division designation for cardiology and was appointed head physician at the Clinic for Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Angiology of the Mediclin Heart Center in Lahr / Black Forest . In addition to his work in Lahr, Eberhard von Hodenberg has been an adjunct professor at the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University since 1999.

He has been a member of the FDP and a member of the district council in the Ortenau district since 2004 .
