Eberhard von Rundstedt

Eberhard von Rundstedt (born May 1, 1803 in Berlin ; † September 22, 1851 at Schönfeld Palace ) was a Prussian officer and painter .

Life

Von Rundstedt came from a noble family , whose members were often in military service. He was the son of Joachim Ernst Friedrich von Rundstedt (1757-1819), a lieutenant colonel in the royal Prussian guard regiment and his wife Agnes Luise Friederike (born von Lüderitz). He received military training and held the rank of major . As a dilettante, he also painted landscape motifs as well as portraits, military and genre paintings. Among other things, he took part in the Berlin art exhibition in 1838 with three portraits.

Family
He was married to Hermine (born von Rabe, 1814–1857). One of his sons was the later major general Gerd von Rundstedt , his grandson the field marshal General Gerd von Rundstedt of the same name . His older son was named Rudolf Karl Ernst Eberhard von Rundstedt (1837–1880) and was a captain.
