history

The village was mentioned in the Mainzer Koppelfutterregister as Ebirsbuch in 1248 .

In 1784 Ebersbach belonged to the Schweinheim District Bailiwick of the Electorate of Mainz, which had its seat in Aschaffenburg.

In 1812 Ebersbach belonged to the Kleinwallstadt district fair in the Aschaffenburg department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt and had 36 fireplaces and 172 souls (residents). Mayor was Heinrich Nebel; his adjuncts were Heinrich Schuck and Valentin Seitz. The school teacher was Johann Adam Enders.

After the transfer to the Crown of Bavaria, Ebersbach was in the Kleinwallstadt regional court from October 1, 1814, which became part of the Obernburg regional court in 1829.

From this, the Obernburg District Office was formed in 1862 . The Ungeheuersmühle was built on the Leidersbach between 1845 and 1861. As everywhere in the German Reich , the term district was introduced in 1939. Ebersbach was now one of the 35 communities in the district of Obernburg am Main . With the dissolution of the district of Obernburg, Ebersbach came to the newly formed district of Miltenberg in 1972 .

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent communities of Leidersbach, Ebersbach, Roßbach and Volkersbrunn were merged to form the new unitary community of Leidersbach.

Recreation

Water treading facility with barefoot path

To the north-east of the village there is a Kneipp facility with a barefoot path on the creek ditch .

Oddities

In the Ebersbacher Flur there is a prize called “White Glues”. Clay soils also predominate on the other, rather steep slopes. So the people of Ebersbach often had to put the spokes of their wagons on the chain in order to be able to reach their "Hutzelgrund" by sliding if not driving, and so the dear neighbors gave them the local nickname Lahmeritscher .
