Ebschied is a part of the community Braunshorn in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in the Rhine-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

history

Ebschied and Schnorbach and other places belonged to the Counts of Kessel an der Maas until 1295 . The count palatine finally bought the place. In the middle of the 14th century, Walram von Sponheim therefore led a feud against the Count Palatinate, but had to acknowledge belonging to the Palatinate. In 1410, the place finally came to the newly founded Duchy of Simmern .

On March 17, 1974 Ebschied was incorporated into Braunshorn.

Mayor

With Markus Becker, the district of Dudenroth has its own mayor. In the local elections on May 26, 2019 , he was elected with 94.74% of the vote. Since he was also elected mayor of the entire community of Braunshorn, he exercises both offices in personal union.
