Parodia concinna is a species of Parodia in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet concinna comes from Latin and means 'pretty'.

description

Parodia concinna grows individually. The light green, initially depressed spherical shoots are later more elongated. They reach heights of growth of 3 to 13 centimeters and a diameter of 2 to 10 centimeters. The 15 to 32 low ribs are conspicuously knuckled like a chin. The areoles located between the humps are woolly white. The hair-like to bristle-like, curved or twisted thorns are brown to reddish to yellowish or whitish. It is difficult to distinguish between central and radial spines. The one to four spread central spines, sometimes more, are 1 to 2.5 centimeters long. One of the central spines is much longer than the rest. The nine to 30 radial spines are 5 to 7 millimeters long.

The lemon-yellow flowers reach lengths of 5 to 8 centimeters and the same diameter. Your pericarpel and the tube are elongated and slender. The scar is red. The egg-shaped thin fruits tear open or disintegrate when ripe. They are up to 1.5 inches long. The fruits contain bell-shaped, glossy black seeds that are slightly humped.
