description

Echinopsis ibicuatensis grows individually. The flattened spherical to spherical, light green shoots reach heights of 6 to 9 centimeters with diameters of 8 to 14 centimeters. The apex of the shoot is sunk. There are up to 13 sharp-edged ribs that are up to 2.5 centimeters high. The circular, conspicuous gray areoles on them are up to 1 centimeter apart. Light gray, needle-like thorns spring from them . The mostly single central spine, occasionally up to three, is straight, protruding and up to 1.2 inches long. The approximately ten spread radial spines are slightly curved and have a length of up to 1 centimeter.

The narrow, funnel-shaped, white flowers open at night. They are up to 18 centimeters long and reach a diameter of 5 centimeters. The ellipsoidal to elongated, somewhat humped fruits are initially green and later turn yellow. They tear open and reach a length of up to 3 centimeters and a diameter of 1.5 centimeters.
