The Echtzer See is a bathing lake near Echtz , a district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is the remaining lake of the former lignite opencast mine Alfred , in which lignite was mined from 1918 to 1941 . The towns of Echtz and Konzendorf are on the lake .
The recreational lake has a large population of trees. A campsite and a restaurant are located directly on the lake . The maximum depth of 18 meters is used by the Düren underwater club as diving water . The bathing supervision is the responsibility of the German Life Rescue Society local group Aldenhoven ( DLRG ). The grill hut can be rented.
Other lakes in the vicinity are the Düren bathing lake , the Lucherberger lake and the Blausteinsee .
