Konzendorf is a small town that belongs to the Echtz-Konzendorf district of the city of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia . Today the place has about 250 inhabitants.

history

Konzendorf is a Franconian foundation from the 7th century. The name of the place goes back to Kuonzo = Konrad, i.e. village of Konrad . The place is mentioned for the first time as Cockindorp in the Liber valoris around 1300, as a parish village in the dean's office Jülich .

Reorganization

From around 1800 to December 31, 1971, Konzendorf belonged as part of the community of Echtz-Konzendorf with Obergeich , D'horn , Schlich , Merode and Geich as the so-called "rule" of the Echtz office. From 1816 the office belonged to Prussia . On January 1, 1972, the Echtz office was dissolved and the Echtz-Konzendorf community came to Düren, the other places moved to the Langerwehe community . From July 1, 1993, another change came along with the postal service: Konzendorf received the new zip code (zip code) 52355, and Echtz was assigned the zip code 52353 to the area.

To the north of the village is a recreational lake, the Echtzer See , which was originally an open- cast lignite mine in which lignite was mined from 1918 to 1941 .

church

The St. Pankratius chapel , which was demolished in the middle of the 19th century, was replaced by a neo-Gothic chapel elsewhere at the turn of the century. The chapel belongs to the church of Echtz.

traffic

The place is poorly developed in public transport ( local public transport) . Only the buses of line 239 (school buses) of the Dürener Kreisbahn go through Konzendorf twice a day. The place is on the northern edge of the federal highway 264 .
