history
The foundation of Ecilda Paullier dates back to May 16, 1883. It was first built as Santa Ecilda by European immigrants as an agricultural settlement. The founding treaty with the government was signed on that day by Federico Paullier , who came from France and whose wife Ecilda Capdevilla de Paullier took the name. From 1886 the Paullier brothers managed the area from their Estancia "Escudero" there. The Cabaña Paullier , which is still preserved today and classified as a national heritage ( Patrimonio Nacional ), formed the core of the settlement and later became the landmark of Ecilda Paullier. Soon after, a telegraph office was set up on site. A company project started later by the Paulliers together with Pedro Risso , which involved the importation of hardwood from Paraguay, also failed due to the turmoil of the revolution in 1896. As a result, the Banco de Londres auctioned the property. After the Ley No. 3.748 on April 6, 1911 the place was classified as a pueblo (village) under the name Santa Ecilda , took place on November 17, 1964 by the Ley No. 13,299 the assignment of the designation villa . In 2012, the appointment to Ciudad (city) was initiated by means of a legislative initiative.
