Eckehart Peil

Eckehart Peil (born January 10, 1935 in Siegen ) is a Lower Saxony politician ( SPD ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After attending school in Burgdorf and Celle, Peil graduated from high school in 1955. He then began studying law and political science in Göttingen , Tübingen , San Antonio / Texas and Heidelberg . In 1960 he passed his first state examination in law and received his doctorate in 1964. His second state examination followed in 1965. Between 1965 and 1966, he worked for an industrial company in Cologne. From November 1966 to the end of 1969 he was also employed in the higher administrative service of the State of Lower Saxony. Between 1970 and the end of 1972 he was a speaker for the Lower Saxony City Council. Since January 1973 he was the permanent deputy to the managing director of the Lower Saxony City Association as the forerunner of the Lower Saxony City Council .

Public offices

From 1968 to 1974 he was a member of the district council of the Burgdorf district . Since June 1974 he was councilor in Burgdorf and parliamentary group leader of the SPD. In the eighth to ninth electoral term he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from June 21, 1974 to June 20, 1982.
