Eckhard Beetke

Eckhard Beetke (born August 16, 1939 in Stettin ; full name: Eckhard Jürgen Klaus Beetke ) is a German dentist . He taught at the University of Rostock .

Life

Eckhard Beetke's parents are Julius and Elli Beetke. From 1946 he attended a primary school in Halle (Saale) , then a high school . On this he passed his Abitur in 1958 and moved to the University of Rostock the next year to study dentistry. He finished his studies in 1964 when he passed the state examination and received the license to practice medicine .

In 1964 the University employed Beetke as a research assistant . The university made him a doctorate in dentistry in 1966 on the basis of the dissertation A contribution to salivary stone disease , and two years later he was recognized as a specialist dentist. Since 1969 he has acted as a senior physician at the Polyclinic for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine.

In 1973 Beetke left his work at the polyclinic and was appointed head of the children's dentistry department at the university. Habilitated in 1979 , he was finally appointed full professor and head of the Polyclinic for Conservative Dentistry in 1983 . In that year he also became director of the Polyclinic for Dental Conservation, which he remained until 1992 and was later in the period from 1996 to 2005.

In 1995 Beetke became treasurer of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Society for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine at the Universities of Greifswald and Rostock eV He was also appointed to the University Council in 2002. He carried out both activities until 2004. He retired on October 1 of the following year.

Beetke belongs to the following societies: the German Society for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine , the Association of University Professors for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine , the German University Teachers Association and the German Society for Tooth Preservation .
