Ed Macauley
Charles Edward Macauley Jr. (born March 22, 1928 in St. Louis , Missouri , † November 8, 2011 ), called "Easy Ed", was an American basketball player .
life and career
Between 1949 and 1959, Charles Edward Macauley Jr., born in St. Louis in 1928, played in the US professional NBA with the St. Louis Bombers , Boston Celtics and St. Louis Hawks . In 1956, the Celtics traded him for the rights to Bill Russell . With the Hawks he won the first and only championship in team history in 1958. He was nominated a total of seven times for the All-Star Game . Just one year after his career ended, in 1960, Macauley was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame . In 1989 he became cathedral dean in the Catholic Church .
