Life

Edda Minck, who comes from a miners' family in Bochum , has worked primarily as a producer, editor and screenwriter for film and television for more than 20 years, but has also worked in other professional fields.

Under the pseudonym Blunt & Gray ( Grace Blunt and Hermione Gray ), the two authors (Minck & Minck) won the 2006 crime scene competition in the Tatort Eifel with the film Fatwa . The following year, the authors won another prize in this competition, this time with Abendroth! , the concept for a multi-part television crime series. The detective stories totgepflegt and bumped off , appeared in 2007 and 2008 in Düsseldorf Droste Verlag . The focus of the multi-part crime series is the fictional screenwriter Maggie Abendroth , who, after a career break, makes a fresh start in her hometown of Bochum and is always involved in peculiar murder cases. With riveted , Minck & Minck presented another case in 2009.

Edda Minck's solo work For No Money in the World (2009) was one of the finalists in the competition for the DeLiA Literature Prize 2010 .

The detective novel Ehre, Whom Ehre ... , the publication of which the publisher of Droste Verlag, Felix Droste, had rejected in 2009 because of allegedly Islamophobic tendencies, appeared under the pseudonym WW Domsky in Leda Verlag, Leer .

Edda Minck published the next two - and last - Maggie Abendroth novels austrällert (2010) and chatted to death (2012) in KBV-Verlag , Hillesheim .

The fact that so-called “animal rescuers” bring street dogs or dogs from animal shelters in southern Europe to Central Europe in order to enable them to have a “better life” there is the starting point of their satirical novel Idiots on Two Paws. The Pug Diaries (2010).

Edda Minck also regularly denies author readings , thanks to her crime novel, often cared for dead in funeral homes .

She also wrote the column Ask Grandma Berti for the Bochum district magazine VorOrt . The local kiosk operator who “philosophizes” in typical Ruhr German about the small topics of everyday life was already part of the figure arsenal of Maggie Abendroth novels. A selection from these columns was published in book form in 2011 under the title Bissitage, Your Grandma Berti - News by the Bochum kiosk philosopher ( ISBN 9783981462906 ).
